Career Experience
I have been a tutor with Tutor.com for almost 9 years, and I have absolutely loved the experience. Before working with Tutor.com, I had a variety of teaching jobs. After graduating from college with my elementary education degree, I was a substitute teacher for the same school system that I attended as a child. While substituting, I received an educational assistant position at my local middle school with a 6th grade student. After working with that student for his 6th grade school year, my husband and I began working at a children’s home supporting children from age 2 to 17 in all facets of their development. I also tutored many of those same children in English and math before we started our next chapter when my husband joined the Navy.
I Love Tutoring Because
tutoring allows me to use my education degree almost anywhere my husband and I move in the U.S. The Navy lifestyle can make it very difficult to obtain and maintain a teaching position since we are constantly moving from town to town and state to state. Having a job that allows me to share my passion (teaching) no matter where military life sends us has been a huge blessing.
