Career Experience
I have taught in some of the best funded and some of the worst funded schools in my state. This gives me a detailed understanding of a variety of challenges students face at school. Over the course of my academic work, I have focused on the social, emotional, and behavioral barriers to learning---especially for students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I have often been noted for being persistent and encouraging. I am particularly skilled at breaking down completed tasks into small manageable steps, troubleshooting inexplicable hang-ups, and diagnosing skill gaps.
I Love Tutoring Because
As an intervention specialist, my life's work is dedicated to helping those who are struggling find their way to success. I believe strongly in a strengths-based approach that supports students achieving small incremental goals on their way to their larger goal. I am excited to play a small role in the learning journeys of so many students.
