I have over 10 years experience tutoring all levels of middle school math and all levels of high school math up to Calculus - and this includes AP Statistics. At the college level, I tutor all levels of Algebra and Intro to Statistics. When I'm not tutoring, I teach Algebra and Statistics to undergraduate students at Stevenson University and the University of Baltimore. I graduated with honors from Bryn Mawr College and earned my Master's Degree from the University of Baltimore.

Do you need help in math? I am here to help! I am an experienced tutor and my favorite subjects are Algebra, Geometry, Precalc, Trig, College Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus! I can explain math concepts in easy to understands terms. I understand the different ways students learn and can use appropriate methods to ensure success. I have experience with all ages - elementary, middle school, high school, college, and adults returning to the classroom after a long absence. I love math, but I understand that many of my students do not! I can make math easier, and you may be surprised with some fun along the way. I am available for either one-time refreshers - if you are preparing for a test, for example - or for weekly sessions that last the year, the semester, or a few weeks. Summer is a great time to get a refresher, or to prepare for the next math class. I also tutor SAT/ACT Math, GMAT, and GRE Math. Let me know how I can help you! Her method was right she knows her math. However from my opinion came off as condescending. I wanted to do an hour however I cut it short. I personally couldn't take it any longer. I informed her ahead of time that I had Dyscalculia. At time she would speak real slow and others make deep sighs. She may work well with others but she is not for me. I will give her and average because she did help me to understand. However the way she went about it was lack luster for me.

Definitely a knowledgeable tutor, but her style is slightly condescending. It was more like did you do your prep work before you asked for tutoring versus let me help you exactly where you are. I understand accountability, but sometimes students are already overwhelmed, and this style could be a deterrent from truly being confident in successful completion. Everyone has their own style, but for example Nikeshia on the same subject makes it plain and I feel empowered to complete all problems successfully (as if I knew how to do it the entire time). Rather the comments today felt more like let's check out your reading comprehension. Or I know the answer, but I am just waiting on you to figure it out.

I think the tutor did her best with me. I just wish that the number of hours available could be allotted per student for a semester and not per class. Like I don't need these for writing so 10 possible hours there goes unused, but I need ALL the hours for stats because it doesn't even feel like English is English anymore. It's like I'm trying to learn a whole new language at the same time as trying to do all these complex problems because they couldn't just translate the book to English.
