I am licensed to teach high school English in the state of North Carolina. I have experience as a substitute teacher and tutor. I have taught in both public and private schools. I currently teach English literature and writing at a private school in North Carolina. I have taught all abilities from struggling learners to AP students. I have been published in local newspapers, and I have had many former students publish their writing.

I Love Tutoring Because

I enjoy tutoring because it gives me an opportunity to help students better their writing skills. I love seeing students achieve that "light bulb" moment. I want to see students reach their goals.

The fact that if you leave the tab while it's trying to connect it stops searching for a tutor is a bit frustrating. Also, the session ran a bit slow with responses (I don't know if the tutor is doing multiple people at once though). I do like how my tutor didn't over teach by going on to explain a concept when I got something right, or even when I got something wrong (because I was able to understand without the explanation once I knew it was wrong). In simpler terms, I liked how I only got an explanation when I asked for it because it made the whole process concise and fine tuned to my needs.
