Career Experience

Some of my education experience includes the following. I have four years of experience as a mathematics instructor for middle and high school mathematics over the last few years. I also have five semesters of experience as part of a teaching assistantship while a graduate student, taking roles as instructor or recitation instructor for business calculus, calculus, pre-calculus, and quantitative reasoning and mathematical skills. Before that, I tutored for two years in high school and middle school mathematics and English. Finally, I tutored pre-calculus, and first and second term calculus while an undergraduate student for two years. Outside of education, I work as a software developer. Most of my work experience is with using Java and SQL, but I also use Python and other languages and technologies.

I Love Tutoring Because

it's 1 on 1 or in small groups, so I can focus on homework and subject matter instead of other classroom distractions and issues. It gives me an immediate sense that I am making a difference for someone if it is effective. If it's not effective, then I like to change perspective using a different method of learning, or focusing on on a less complex version of the problem.

This was my first time using Tutor.com, and I was really glad that I got some clarification on the problem I got stuck on. I was on Unit 7A.1 on Knewton Alta for Math 123, and I got help with a nice and informative tutor and we succeeded. I was at a 95% mastery at first, and I got the equation correct on my second and last attempt then shot up to 100%. This website is very cool! Thank you so much!
