Career Experience

I'm a senior undegrad physics student, and I have been teaching since two years ago several subjects in any educational level, university or scholar. I have learned how to organize myself to be both a good online educator and a good student in my career. Through this time I have also realized that communication is fundamental; you must be able to express your difficulties and to demand clear explanations from your professors. Therefore, as far as there is communication, I will have the intention to find out any alternative to explain and make the topics clear enough for you.

I Love Tutoring Because

I look at it from a student's view, not as a professor, but rather as a partner in academics. Hence, it is very gratifying for me to see that there are more people with the same doubts I had, but now I am able to help them, using my own reasonings and experiences from when I tried to face those problems in the past. I have no doubt that teaching is the best way to test yourself, your knowledge, and the pedagogical skills you have to transmit them to others. In the last year tutoring has become such a beautiful profession for me. I feel proud to be part of this group of educators and help, among all the difficulties, so many students throughout the world to really enjoy and understand mathematics, physics and more.

I understand it is a tutoring service and that the tutors are there to guide and assist through the process and not just give us the answer but the session I had felt demeaning in a way. It would have been nice to get a short breakdown of the concept I wasn't understanding especially when I said I didn't understand it. When the tutor asked me to clarify where I was confused and struggling, they came back and reiterated what I had just said I was stuck on and didn't bother spending some time to make sure I actually got the concept. It just felt belittling in a way and I left the session because I felt like I was treated like a kid and stupid.
