Communication was not working well and this may have needed a chat session because I was a little slower than my tutor and he was sometimes moving on when I really needed to wait, or he was asking question about some next step when I was still confused about the step I had just completed. I think it would help if the tutor was more directive and stated that such and such is a rule instead of asking questions about what to do, because if he asks me if something is a rule then I need to look it up to see and it gets very confusing because I think he is really saying Do this when he asks questions. I need someone to say you don't have to use the lowest common denominator to subtract fractions with different polynomials, you can multiply the fractions by each other's denominators and get a product you can simplify. Also, I tried to explain there were two denominators and it was difficult because the function numerator was a fraction to begin with and everything was very confusing. I'm sorry.
