Career Experience

I've had multiple teaching and tutoring jobs during and since obtaining my degree, including ESL and teacher's assistant jobs as well as a summer school reading program. As a cultural anthropologist heavily involved in academic theory, my best skills are my critical reading and writing skills, which I hope to pass on to other people through tutoring and teaching.

I Love Tutoring Because

I love helping people work on their writing skills. Formal writing has been a large part of my academic and post-academic career, and I love creative writing in my free time. Helping people with their writing means I get to read something new everyday!

My tutors audio was echoing making it hard to understand her. Like really hard to understand her near the end of the session. But other than that she was great and very helpful. I wish I knew about this earlier.

It didn't seem like there was a category specifically for APA formatting. So the tutor did not seem as knowledgable on the subject as I would have hoped. I will still be contacting my professor to ask the same questions as I do not feel confident that I received the most accurate answer. The tutor did their best though and she probably would have offered more help if I asked for it.

I wish there was a 2 hour option as well... just when i start to understand the person leaves and i am stuck explaining myself all over again..... it takes half an hour just for the person to know what I need help with.... I am losing hope at this point..... 3 previous tutors caused a meltdown in my brain.... i can't keep having to explain myself to someone new because there's only one option of an hour....
