Career Experience

I have worked as a tutor, both online and in person, since 2001, and I have been tutoring solely online since 2008 in a variety of subjects, including English, writing, and social studies.

I Love Tutoring Because

it allows me to really share the love of learning with students one-on-one without having to negotiate around issues of power or classroom politics. I realize that, to many teachers, tutoring is considered a kind of helping profession designed to enable them to accomplish their pedagogical goals, but to me, not having the power of the grade book means having the freedom to invest in individual students and help them to really learn what they need to learn in order to become successful citizens.
