Career Experience
I have centered myself around education supporting roles for over ten years. From 2011-2015, I worked at local public schools and STEM/STEAM academies as a tutor and teacher assistant for grades K-12. During my undergraduate studies, I became a freelance editor for college-bound, high school students and undergraduates. My specialties included brief structural and copy editing for essays, reports, personal statements and resumes. In the last three years, I was able to earn the promotion from mentoring students to supervising a team of academic mentors at an online, private university where I strengthened my team's and my knowledge in overall academic planning with nontraditional, adult learners. This primarily included goal planning, reviewing best practices, and accountability/time management skill building for undergraduate, graduate, and PhD candidates.
I Love Tutoring Because
guiding learners of all ages to find their "ah-ha" moments to truly grasp the content and find their voices in their studies is what drives my passion for education.
