The Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida qualifies itself as “powered by analytics” and “driven by creativity.” The school offers a traditional full-time MBA degree as well as a 21-month executive MBA program, and an online MBA program. The college’s strongest concentrations are in Sport and Entertainment Management and Supply Chain Management; students can also choose to do a dual MBA/MS in Sport & Entertainment. The “large healthcare sector in Tampa Bay” attracts a large number of students who take advantage of the healthcare management coursework offered by Muma. Other certificate programs include analytics and business intelligence; business analytics; business foundations; compliance, risk, and anti-money laundering; entrepreneurship; human resources; and project management. The University of South Florida has “great diversity and…rich resources,” and Muma specifically has a “receptive administration” with “excellent” professors “who communicate key concepts solidly and stress their understanding,” “are transparent about assessment,” and “value [each] student’s unique contribution and original thinking.” Students can also take advantage of the option to take on a “second year residency” that comes with a “tuition waver.” The school shows its commitment to sustainability in a number of ways: the first of which is the Building Sustainable Enterprise track. The course “Social, Ethical and Legal Systems” is a required course that examines “economic, technological, political, social, and ecological environments…within the context of business decision making, ethics, and social responsibility.” Several faculty members are “actively engaged in sustainability research,” and the school publishes a sustainability journal, Organization and Environment. Additionally, the university has the “Patel College of Global Sustainability” where students can pursue a dual degree with the Center of Entrepreneurship.
