In 2020, Marymount became the first higher education institution in the Commonwealth of Virginia to be designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). Marymount is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), with specialized accreditation for many of its professional programs such as Business Administration, Health Care Management, Interior Design, Physical Therapy, and undergraduate and graduate programs in Education and Nursing. At Marymount, students enjoy small classes and incredible personal attention from outstanding faculty. Marymount's athletic teams, known as the Saints, compete in NCAA Division III in the Atlantic East Conference and sponsor 20 sports.
