Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph's in 1916, St. Joseph's University, New York develops well-rounded individuals who graduate ready to make the world a better place, while living our mission: Esse non videri — "To be, not to seem."

St. Joseph's tuition rate is among the lowest of independent colleges and universities in the metropolitan area, and boasts a network of more than 47,000 alumni. U.S. News & World Report consistently names St. Joseph's as an outstanding college in the "Regional Universities Northeast" category in its annual Best Colleges issue.

With a 13:1 student/faculty ratio, students choose St. Joseph's for its small classes and inclusive community. A proud participant in the Post-9/11 GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program, St. Joseph's is continually recognized as a Military Friendly School and has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report and Military Times for its commitment to America's veterans and active military. As part of the University's participation in the Post-9/11 GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program, financial support for education and housing is offered to military veterans with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2011, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. St. Joseph's also offers credit for military training and experience and countless opportunities to help make St. Joseph's a familiar atmosphere and ease the transition from service member to civilian.

St. Joseph's College, New York is located in Patchogue (SJC Long Island). SJC Long Island is located on the South Shore of eastern Long Island, just minutes from the Great South Bay, Long Island MacArthur Airport, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Orient Point and many of Long Island's ocean beaches. New York City is just a short ride on the Long Island Rail Road. SJC Long Island's campus facilities include six buildings and the state-of-the-art Outdoor Field Complex, spread over a 32-acre lakeside campus on the outskirts of Patchogue Village.
