What to do before your first session

  • Enrolling with The Princeton Review does NOT register you for an actual test administration. If you need help registering, please use the link at the bottom of this page for the test for which you’re preparing.
  • Your preparation will be most effective as part of a goal driven approach including committing to a test date that fits with your application plans.
  • But don’t worry: if you need to change your plans, we will work with you! And if you need advice on when to test or any aspect of the admission process, The Princeton Review is here for you!
  • Note that depending on the timing of your desired test date, registration may not be open before the start of your course. You are encouraged to register as early as possible. Test administrations can fill up, and sometimes do so significantly before registration deadlines.
  • When you do have a confirmed test date, please enter it in the Target Test Date area of the Home tab in your Dashboard (see Prepare for Your First Session) .
  • Your program includes all necessary textbooks! They will ship to you the next business day after you enroll. Shipping times can range from 5-7 business days depending on your location.
  • You will receive an email with a tracking number.
  • If you have any concerns about your shipping address or lost/damaged shipments, please contact us immediately.
  • If for any reason your materials do not arrive before your first session, you will have online access to the materials required to participate.
  • You will be accessing your online account regularly throughout your program. This is where you will use your program Dashboard to find key information such as your course location, schedule and syllabus, access practice tests and drills, use score reports to analyze your progress, view supplemental online lessons, and more!
  • To access your online account, click Sign In in the upper right corner of any page on princetonreview.com.
  • Your username/email address is the email address that you provided when you enrolled online or by phone.
  • If you enrolled by phone and have never registered on princetonreview.com, you should have received an email with the subject “Don’t Forget to Complete Your Registration”. Use the link in this email or, if you do not have this email, click on Register under My Account and use the same email you provided when you enrolled.
  • If you have any difficulties accessing your online account, please contact The Princeton Review’s Student Technical Support at 1-800-273-8439, Option 2 (for enrolled students), Option 1 (for technical support), or email tprstudenttech@review.com.
  • When you sign in, you will be taken to your Student Tools page where you will see your program in the Test Prep Student Tools area. You can also get to the Student Tools page by selecting Home from the My Account menu in the upper right corner after signing in.
  • Your program Dashboard becomes available immediately when you enroll for GRE, LSAT and MCAT programs, and 10 days before your first scheduled session for all other programs. When your Dashboard is available, you will see an Open button under your program with the start and end dates of access to your program Dashboard. Note that the start date is NOT the first date of your program. You will be able to view your schedule in your Dashboard on the Schedule tab.
  • If you are logging in before your Dashboard is open, you will see the dates for the first and last scheduled sessions in your program plus a clock icon. Hover over the clock icon to see the first date on which you will be able to open your Dashboard.
  • Access to your program Dashboard lasts 120 days (270 days for MCAT programs), and is calculated based on the date 10 days before your first scheduled session. Your access does NOT expire early if you enroll early or begin using your resources early. (Note that students who find that they need longer access to the Dashboard can inquire about The Princeton Review’s guarantee. Students also have exclusive access to purchasing extensions.)
  • MCAT programs involve an extra step when first accessing your Dashboard. Please use the link at the bottom of this page to see additional details specific to MCAT students.
  • Once you have access to your program Dashboard, check that your computer meets the minimum requirements. Please do this as soon as you can after your program Dashboard becomes available.
  • Try accessing one of the drills or lessons on the Coursework tab to ensure it runs properly.
  • If you see a pink alert at the top of your Dashboard, you may need to update your browser or change settings. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  • If you appear to be having any issues, please contact The Princeton Review’s Student Technical Support at 1-800-273-8439, Option 2 (for enrolled students), Option 1 (for technical support), or email tprstudenttech@review.com.
  • Many programs have pre-work to complete before the first session. Please use the links at the bottom of this page to see additional details specific to the test for which you’re preparing. Note that if you have chosen to enroll in a course that is beginning very soon or that has already begun, you may find some of the timelines and expectations challenging. You’ll need to do extra work, and should consult your instructor and The Princeton Review’s Student Support if you need help.
  • View your full course schedule in the Schedule tab of your program Dashboard. Note that there is both a Calendar and a List view available.
  • Take the Dashboard tour, and read through the information on the Home and Resources pages. For many programs, these tabs also feature introductory videos for you to watch.
  • Note that you are able to email your teacher(s) through the Schedule tab. Your teachers will provide additional expectations around communication by email during your program.
  • Plan how you will get to your class location as listed in the Upcoming Session of the Schedule tab in Your Dashboard.
  • The Princeton Review’s programs happen at a variety of locations including institutions such as university campuses, high schools, conference centers, and hotels, as well as classrooms managed by The Princeton Review within office or commercial buildings. If you are driving, you will need to make arrangements for parking.
  • Note that for courses happening on university campuses or at other institutions that have multiple buildings, the address and associated map for your course location will often correspond to the institution’s primary address and will NOT be the correct address for your course session. In such situations, the locations listed on each Upcoming Session in your Schedule tab will include the name of the specific building where the session will be held. If the location of your Upcoming Session is listed as “Room To Be Announced” when you first access your Dashboard, please check back closer to your first scheduled session.
  • If you experience any difficulty in locating your course, please call Student Support.
  • Check your Dashboard as part of your preparation for each session to confirm that you have the correct class location. Some courses may not be in the same room or building for all sessions.
  • Please take the time to provide information about your goals and prior test history if you did not do so when you first accessed your program Dashboard. It is especially important that you enter the actual date on which you expect to take the test. Note that if you have not entered a test date, your Dashboard will display a placeholder test date associated with your course which may or may not be correct.
  • This program will prepare you—if you meet some basic expectations: attend all sessions, take all required practice tests, complete all homework, including readings, lessons, and drills!
  • If you miss a class session, you will use your syllabi, recorded lessons, and other support materials in your Dashboard to keep up with your program.
  • Classes may occasionally need to be rescheduled due to severe weather. Host institutions, such as high schools and universities, may decide to close campuses in such situations. While we will make every effort to contact you, you should also be attentive to news alerts of closures and safety advisories. Rest assured that in such circumstances, you will be contacted as soon as possible with information on how to continue your program.
  • Not all students have the same needs or goals! Your program includes resources to support you in working more on areas of weakness. Some students find it beneficial to use The Princeton Review’s tutoring and homework help services to tackle specific challenges.
  • The Princeton Review guarantees your results! For full guarantee information, click here.
  • If you enrolled by paying a deposit, the balance of your course fee will be deducted from the payment method on file 10 days before your first scheduled session.
  • You can go to Settings under My Account to change your login information, update your contact information, update your profile, change your payment method, and review your order history.
  • We appreciate that many students don’t review The Princeton Review’s enrollment Terms and Conditions, which are presented online as you enroll (or when you first access your Dashboard if you enroll by phone). Please consult the Student Enrollment Agreement page to read about payment terms, withdrawal deadlines and other important information.
  • Please take special note that you must withdraw 10 days or more in advance of your first session to be eligible for a full refund of your course fee. Full details of this and other policies can be read on the Student Enrollment Agreement page.
  • The Princeton Review gives you opportunities to provide feedback through formal evaluations during and at the end of your course. These evaluations are completed through your Dashboard. You will also be emailed a survey about a month after the end of your course around when you should have your actual test results. We hope that you will want to use these opportunities to confirm that you are delighted with your experience and results. The Princeton Review welcomes your feedback both on these evaluations and at any time so that we can help ensure the quality of our programs for you and for all students.
