Students must have successfully completed the following courses prior to matriculation: Biology (one year); Chemistry (one year); Organic Chemistry (one year); Physics (one year); English (1 year); and Math (one year)or through Calculus I. The MCAT is required, and scores must be no more than 3 years old. Scores from all sections of the MCAT, including the writing sample, are considered.

Graduates

Many graduates enter post-graduate programs in Arkansas. Programs in about 20 specialty areas are offered at university-affiliated hospitals in Little Rock. In addition, a number of family practice residencies are available at rural locations around the state. At least half of the graduates of the School of Medicine enter primary care fields.
