Muhlenberg College is a liberal arts institution located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, about fifty-five miles north of Philadelphia. With an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 2,000 students, Muhlenberg is dedicated to shaping creative, compassionate, collaborative citizens through rigorous academic programs in the arts, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences, as well as preprofessional programs, such as prehealth and prelaw.
Muhlenberg is unique among private colleges in offering programs in professional areas such as business, education, public health, media & communication and neuroscience in addition to the traditional liberal arts majors. The Muhlenberg curriculum provides opportunities for students in all programs to participate in research, community engagement, internships and study abroad and study away options that provide critical experiences for students in today's rapidly changing world. The outstanding quality of the Muhlenberg academic program has been recognized by Phi Beta Kappa and 15 additional national honorary societies with established chapters at the college. Muhlenberg also recently began offering graduate degrees in applied analytics and organizational leadership.

Our goal in the Office of Financial Aid is to help as many students as possible afford a Muhlenberg education. We do this through a combination of need-based and merit-based loans, grants and scholarships. Every family's financial situation is different, so we carefully review the information that you submit to the College. We customize your financial aid offer based on your circumstances.
Applying for financial aid
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov. Muhlenberg's federal school code is 003304. The FAFSA is available beginning October 1 and should be completed by the deadline for your admission plan
Complete the Muhlenberg College Scholarship and Aid Application in your student portal. This should be completed by the deadline of your admission plan.
Applications are automatically reviewed for merit scholarship consideration. No additional materials are required to be considered for merit scholarships

Muhlenberg has a student population of approximately 2,000 with 36 states and 12 countries represented. As a highly residential campus, students develop new and enduring friendships throughout their time on campus. A highly engaged residential professional staff and student team are committed to helping students grow, learn and enjoy their time on campus together.
Muhlenberg's most recent incoming class demonstrates the college's commitment to a diverse recruitment strategy and inclusive student experience: More than 16% of the Muhlenberg class of 2025 were first-generation students, and about 24% of the class identify as students of color.
Every day at Muhlenberg brings new opportunities for intellectual growth and fulfillment, not only within the classroom but through leadership on campus. In any given 24 hours, a student might see a world premiere show, go to a talk by a national leader, cheer in the stands for the Mules, volunteer in the community and much more.
Muhlenberg is a member of Division III's Centennial Conference, and the College is a regular contender on the regional and national stage. Students can choose from more than 22 intercollegiate sports or participate in 20 intramural and co-ed athletic opportunities.

Located in the vibrant Lehigh Valley, approximately 90 miles west of New York City and about 55 miles north of Philadelphia, Allentown is Pennsylvania's third-largest, and fastest-growing, city. It is home to three historic districts and one of the best park systems in the United States.
Muhlenberg's campus is located in Allentown's idyllic West End, an easily walkable area with integrated public parks, a bustling farmer's market and a nearby arts district.
Campus Facilities & Equipment
At Muhlenberg, scholarship isn't limited to the classroom. The college's labs, performance areas and collaborative spaces are designed for and structured around integrative learning. Students can take advantage of laboratories and adaptive classroom spaces from their first year on campus, perform and design productions and concerts in Muhlenberg's varied music, theatre and dance venues and participate in exhibitions across campus galleries.
Muhlenberg students enjoy some of the best campus dining in the nation (and #1 in PA). In addition to two dedicated Kosher dining environments, students are able to satisfy their own dietary and nutritional needs at the college's many flexible dining locations.
Off campus, students often find themselves working with faculty to conduct research with community partners. And for students focused on the study of natural spaces, the College's research preserve and arboretum provide exceptional spaces for exploration and investigation.
Off-Campus Opportunities
Allentown is a magnet for entrepreneurs and new businesses ranging from tech and design to logistics, finance, medicine and biotechnology. The Lehigh Valley is ranked a top region for economic development, and many of these businesses offer internships and full-time employment opportunities to Muhlenberg students and alumni. The Lehigh Valley is home to an extensive park system with a variety of gardens and trails; every year several of these parks sponsor nationally known cultural festivals.
The valley lays claim to important museums and theaters, as well as numerous colleges and universities. Through the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges, Muhlenberg students can take courses at these other schools, as well as use library services and attend lectures, readings, film screenings and more.
Allentown's city center is home to a professional hockey and entertainment center, a downtown farmer's and cultural market and many new restaurants for day and evening entertainment. A short drive or public transit ride away offers additional options, including minor league baseball and the vibrant cities of Bethlehem and Easton.
