TYPES OF TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE TO CAMPUS

Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta is located about 15 miles from campus. Rapid rail, airport shuttle, taxi, car rental, and limousine services are available. MARTA is the city's public transportation system and provides bus service in addition to rapid rail service. The Brookhaven/Oglethorpe University MARTA station is located 1 mile due south of campus on Peachtree Road and is served by the North Doraville MARTA line. Atlanta is also a major hub for both Greyhound Buslines and Amtrak.


DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS TO CAMPUS

From I-85/75, take exit 89 (North Druid Hills Road). Proceed north/west on North Druid Hills approximately 2.5 miles (make sure to veer right at Roxboro Road, remaining on North Druid Hills) until it ends at Peachtree Road. Turn right (north) onto Peachtree and travel for 1 mile. The campus is on the left. From I-285, take exit 21 (Ashford-Dunwoody Road). Proceed south/east on Ashford-Dunwoody approximately 2.5 miles until it ends at Peachtree Road. Turn right (south) onto Peachtree and proceed approximately 1 block. The campus is on the right.

LOCAL ACCOMMODATIONS

Many hotels and inns are located within a 5 mile radius of Oglethorpe's campus. One of the best bets is the Sierra Suites Brookhaven (3967 Peachtree Road; 404-237-9100), located directly next to the Brookhaven/Oglethorpe University MARTA station and providing a discount for Oglethorpe University visitors. Also try the Holiday Inn Select Perimeter (4386 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road; 770-457-6363), which features a weight room, a pool, a resturant, and reasonable prices. The Red Roof Inn North Druid Hills (1960 North Druid Hills Road; 404-321-4174) offers nice accommodations at economy rates, and the Swissotel Atlanta (3391 Peachtree Road; 404-365-5500) is a world-class luxury hotel located in the Lenox/Buckhead area 5 minutes south of Oglethorpe's campus.
