From The School
Rhodes welcomes students of all backgrounds and walks of life. Our highly talented students come from all over the world, with a dedication to high achievement in a rigorous, broad-based education on one of the nation's most beautiful campuses.
Rhodes' admission offices continue our test-optional policy for admission and merit scholarship consideration. No student will be disadvantaged by not submitting a test score. Rhodes no longer requires the CSS Profile. All applicants seeking need-based aid consideration must complete the FAFSA and possibly complete a few additional questions on the Rhodes Financial Supplement.
Rhodes has a priority deadline of Dec. 1 for merit-based scholarships. The Common Application also serves as the application for Rhodes' merit-based competitive scholarships.

Academic Programs
At the core of the Rhodes academic experience is our Foundations Curriculum, which gives students greater freedom to follow their academic interests and aspirations as they develop critical-thinking skills that are fundamental to the Rhodes experience, the study of the liberal arts and sciences, and lifelong learning.
Within the Foundations framework, students are required to choose one of two signature course sequences: The Search for Values or Life ("Search") or Life: Then and Now ("Life"), both of which comprise three courses (12 credit hours) spread over three semesters.

Students Say
But perhaps the highest praise is reserved for Rhodes’ faculty and staff, whom many say are the school’s “greatest strength.” Students love that their professors “each retain their unique styles, with accessibility being the only common factor.” Many “go above and beyond to help students succeed,” which is apparent from the way office hours are utilized, not just for help “but for lively discussions on papers..., for finding research opportunities, or just to chat, because they’re great humans.” And a classmate simply sums up by saying, “Professors have challenged me, and through it all, I have learned more than I ever thought possible.”

From The School
Rhodes College's current student body of approximately 2,070 undergraduate and students hails from 45 states (plus D.C.) and 63 countries. We enrolled a first-year class of 488 students for the Fall 2022 semester. Multicultural and international students made up 36.5% of the incoming class of 2026.
For over a century, Rhodes College has sought to create a true sense of belonging for every student. Our Honor Code has built a campus-wide community of trust and mutual respect. Over 100 student organizations invite students to stay busy and connected. Almost half of Rhodes students participate in the Greek system, and most Greek events are open to the entire student body. Our athletics program has received numerous awards from the Southern Athletic Association, and our student-athletes frequently receive recognition for their athletic and academic achievements.
Whether serving on the Honor Council, organizing a community service initiative, participating in athletics or the fine arts, or bringing new ideas and energy to a student club or organization, Rhodes empowers students to belong—and truly thrive—in our world-class community of lifelong learners.

Location
Located on one of the country's most beautiful historic campuses, Rhodes offers a supportive residential community that serves as a launch pad into the heart of Memphis—a vibrant city full of music, history, and opportunities for hands-on experience—and the world. Our relationship with Memphis invites students to explore professional pathways and cultivate passions before graduation while benefiting from the social, historical, and cultural landscape close to the college
Campus Facilities & Equipment
Rhodes' Collegiate Gothic campus sits on a 123-acre, wooded site in the heart of historic Midtown Memphis, and is frequently named one of the most beautiful college campuses in the nation.
Our walkways, quadrangles, residence halls, common areas, and classrooms are all intentionally designed to encourage intimate conversation, the exchange of ideas, and life-changing connections.
With each new expansion, Rhodes has maintained its Collegiate Gothic architecture. The Paul Barret Jr. Library (2005), has been ranked among the country's most beautiful libraries. In 2012, Rhodes opened the expanded Catherine S. Burrow Refectory and the West Village Residence Hall, both of which maintain the Collegiate Gothic style.
In September of 2017 Rhodes opened its most recent expansion, Robertson Hall. It is a $30 million, 55,000-square-foot science facility that features state-of-the-art research and teaching labs and smart classrooms.
Construction continues on our newest residence hall, East Village C, a 61,717 sqft residence hall that will hold 150 students, provide flexible work and study space, spacious common areas, and a lodge designed for the college's multicultural VOICES student organization. East Village C is slated to open for occupancy in January 2023.
Off-Campus Opportunities
A Rhodes experience combines the best of the classroom and the real world through internships, service, and research, alongside other opportunities in Memphis.
Memphis is an extension of our campus. Students are able to pursue service and fellowship opportunities at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, FedEx, International Paper, and city government offices, among others.
