At Trinity University, we place the student experience at the heart of everything we do. Home to more than 2,500 students, we foster a close-knit community where personalized attention and a supportive environment help each student thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Regardless of major, Trinity provides the resources usually found at much larger institutions: scholarships, undergraduate research, internships, study abroad, and state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. With big-school resources in a small-school environment, Trinity ensures you will benefit from connections and innovations typically found at the graduate level.
Trinity offers more than 100 majors and minors, with advising programs in Pre-Law and Health Professions (including Pre-Medical). Through our interdisciplinary second major, you can combine your academic interests and passions to create your own double major. Students have created majors in social entrepreneurship, music business, and much more!

Tuition, Room, Board and Fees
An education of Trinity's quality is an invaluable yet significant investment. The University is committed to working in partnership with students and families in navigating the tuition and financial aid processes.
The educational and operating expenses are provided by payments from students; income from endowment funds; appropriations and gifts from trustees, alumni, foundations, businesses, industries, churches, and generous-spirited individuals. Tuition and fees cover less than half the actual cost per student. The difference is paid from the sources indicated above. Thus, each full-time student attending Trinity receives, in effect, an annual subsidy in addition to any other scholarship or student aid granted to individual students.
For the 2020-2021 school year, tuition is $46,456, room and board is $13,740, and technology & activity fees are $616.
Financial Aid
Trinity delivers a high-impact unique educational experience made affordable to students and families at every economic level. A top-quality Trinity education is an invaluable investment with benefits that last a lifetime. As undergraduates apply to the University, they are automatically considered for our full range of merit scholarships.
Trinity's $1.4 billion endowment places us among the top 40 institutions nationally for endowment per student. The strong fiscal health of Trinity enables us to offer generous merit scholarships and robust financial aid opportunities. Trinity offers a comprehensive financial aid program of scholarships, grants, loans, and campus employment opportunities. The average financial aid package for undergraduates with need is $34,809, and 56% of students graduate with no debt.

Trinity embraces diving deep into ideas, interests, and questions in order to grow as an individual and a diverse community. We strive to encourage pride of identity, no matter race, culture, or idealism. Trinity is a place where ideas, passions, and questions can be fully explored. With big-school resources in a small-school environment, the Trinity community is made of people who become mentors and friends.
As a University, we strive to be a place for Tigers of all stripes. We believe in a campus that thrives as a diverse and inclusive community where students can engage in difficult dialogues, explore other cultures, start their own club, and find common bonds. We want our campus to feel like a home—a place where students can truly express themselves and feel supported. With more than 100 campus clubs and student organizations, you'll find something for every interest.
Learning and growing as an individual doesn't just happen in the classroom. We believe in guiding our students, faculty, and staff outside of their comfort zones. We want our Tigers to make the most of their college experience, finding a sense of belonging and preparing to make waves in their communities.
Connect across differences, act with radical empathy, nurture enduring relationships
Trinity is a residential campus where students come together from around the world. We are part of a community that fosters vibrant student life activities, living-learning residence halls, and diverse opinions. We are also committed to providing programming, support, and opportunities to achieve our aspirational value of intentional inclusion.
Balcony life is a hallmark of Trinity's skyline campus, with many students having views of downtown, the football field, and courtyards. Living-Learning Communities bring Tigers with a shared interest together and create opportunities for academic engagement outside the classroom.

Trinity University encompasses 125-acres situated on a hilltop overlooking downtown San Antonio.
The National Parks Service designated the Trinity campus as a National Historic District in late May 2018, four months after the Texas Historical Commission approved Trinity's nomination as a historic district.
Campus Facilities & Equipment
From science and engineering laboratories to an extensive library collection to theaters, halls, and galleries, the Trinity community is encouraged to utilize a stunning range of academic facilities.
- #17 in the Nation for Best Science Labs by the Princeton Review
- Access to more than 1 million reading, research, and data resources in Coates Library
- Campus is a living laboratory, listed on the National Register of Historic Places
In the Center for the Sciences & Innovation (CSI), Trinity's science and engineering programs offer students cutting-edge instrumentation usually found only at the graduate level. Students utilize shared instrumentation along with controlled environmental chambers, two high-field nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers, genetic sequence analyzer, fiber optics/photonics laboratory, an observatory with eight computer-guided telescopes, a laser and soft-matter dynamics laboratory, high pressure liquid and capillary gas chromatographs and capillary electrophoresis.
Student Success Center
The Student Success Center offers a holistic approach to help students identify roadblocks to academic and personal success while ensuring all students have access to counseling, health, wellness, accessibility, and academic support services.
Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS)
CELCS connects students to experiential learning opportunities and provides personalized career coaching and advising. The Center is a one-stop-shop to help students prepare for life after Trinity, from graduate school to the job market.
Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Students form entrepreneurial project teams to transform creative ideas into practical realities and to interact with alumni entrepreneurs and creators in the San Antonio community.
The Ruth Taylor Fine Arts Center is composed of three buildings: the Smith music building, which houses classrooms, practice studios, and the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall; the Dicke art building, which features spacious art studios flooded with natural light, digital photo labs, and an art gallery; and the Ruth Taylor Theater building, which features the 500-seat Stieren Theater, one of the most advanced theatrical facilities at an undergraduate college. Trinity is part of an elite network of schools that are All-Steinway campuses.
At the Richardson Communication Center, students have access to an interactive multimedia lab, two television stations with control rooms, and the students for KRTU-FM—which is not only the campus radio station, but also San Antonio's largest outlet for jazz music.
Off-Campus Opportunities
San Antonio, one of the fastest-growing cities in America, has a booming economy thanks to a demand for medical, biomedical and biotechnology, energy, manufacturing, tourism, technology, and military sectors. And, our close proximity to Mexico adds both to our economy and engagement with the world.
Trinity's campus is a stone's throw from the heart of downtown, which allows the Trinity community to experience everything from First Friday Artwalks to Fiesta celebrations to farmer's markets at the Pearl.
If you love the outdoors, there are countless opportunities to take advantage of South Texas's great weather by exploring the Hill Country, the Guadalupe River, and various hiking and climbing activities.
For more than 25 years, Outdoor Recreation (O-Rec) has led groups of Trinity students on adventures across the country. This group of outdoor enthusiasts crawl among cacti, paddle scenic rivers, and climb high mountains. Whether you are an expert mountaineer or you have never been inside a tent, they have trips for you!
Go Beyond Your Backyard. See the World.
Trinity's Study Abroad Program is dedicated to helping students develop their understanding of international issues in a complex world through study options that promote intercultural learning as an integral part of a student's Trinity undergraduate degree. Study Abroad is not about travel. It's really about encountering the world, and even more about discovering the country and yourself.
