One thing that is important at any law school is the library, and Creighton students rave about the “beautiful,” “large, and well-equipped” library that is replete “with plenty of available study rooms, computer labs, and private workstations.” “The resources available in the library are fantastic,” and “the research librarians are always there to help with finding anything and teach you how to find it on your own.” If there is a primary complaint about Creighton, it is “Cost. Cost. Cost.” “It’s quite expensive, especially considering the earning potential in the rural areas of the Midwest,” a 3L explains. However, another student says that despite being on “the high end for the cost of tuition,” “most people who end up in law firms will be making anywhere from 50k to 80k.”
The cost of Creighton is offset by the “awesome professors” without whom “Creighton Law wouldn’t be worth it.” These “dedicated, knowledgeable, passionate educators,” are “all well versed in law and have accomplished backgrounds.” “I love my professors!” a 3L declares. “They have very diverse viewpoints and methods of teaching, yet most of them seem very invested in our education.” The administration is also “always helpful and friendly.” “I cannot imagine needing something that the school does not already offer,” one student says. The dean of the law school is “accessible to the entire student body and sees herself as the ‘mom’ of the school.” “The education I receive is tailored to me,” a 2L says. “The practical experiences available at Creighton are unreal” including “trial teams [that] are competitive nationally” as well as a Negotiations team “taught by the man who wrote the book on Negotiations competitions—quite literally.” Students are very pleased with the school’s “open door policy” which encourages students to interact with professors one-on-one. Perhaps most importantly, the professors “provide numerous opportunities to learn about and make connections with potential employers in the Omaha area.” Although Creighton is not ranked as highly as many other schools, students say they “have never felt that I was at a disadvantage or less prepared for practical law work than students from more ‘prestigious’ law schools.” One student sums his experience up thusly: “I do not know if I could say enough wonderful things about Creighton Law School and how pleased I have been with my experience here.”
