Admissions Requirements
Applications are accepted through the AMCAS and invited applicants submit a secondary application before being invited for a personal interview at the main campus in Tallahassee. The College of Medicine accepts 120 students a year and, as an early-start program, classes begin in June. Applicants should meet academic standards predictive of success in medical school through academic grade point average and MCAT (Medical College Aptitude Test) score. An applicant’s MCAT score should be dated no more than three years prior to the beginning of the year of the application cycle. If an applicant is currently enrolled in a degree program, the program must be completed and final transcripts provided to the College of Medicine Admissions Office prior to the beginning of classes. Non-U.S. citizens must possess a permanent resident visa. Applicants are assessed on their qualifications without discrimination in regard to gender, sexual orientation, color, age, disability, race, religion, veteran status, or national origin. Applicants may begin to certify and submit their AMCAS application beginning June 1. The deadline for submitting applications to AMCAS is December 1.
