Career Experience
I am an experienced 7th grade science teacher and curriculum writer/developer. For the last two years, I was a high school science curriculum writer. I spent the past year demonstrating that biology, a complex area of science, can be accessible and understandable by writing learning blocks aligned to the NGSS standards as well as individual states, including Arizona, Utah, Louisiana, Ohio, Texas, and Massachusetts. Due to budget cuts and grant funding, our product development team was eliminated. Before becoming a writer, I was a middle school science teacher for 15 years with most of those years in 7th grade. As a middle school teacher, I learned how to engage my students in onerous content, and I met them with the information at an appropriate level. In addition to being a classroom teacher, I also held other positions within my district, including peer evaluator, science coach, curriculum writer, and content trainer. I never back down from a challenge and love creating new paths for learning opportunities for all students. I am excited to help you discover the answers.
I Love Tutoring Because
I can help students discover the answers by being active problem solvers without directly giving them the answers, which makes learning everlasting.
