Academics

Robert Morris University fosters "well-rounded individuals," who graduate "ready to [conquer]…the real world." Located in a suburb of Pittsburgh, RMU provides students with numerous "networking opportunities" and has "high job placement rates." When it comes to academics, students say "RMU has amazing degree programs, especially in nursing, actuarial science and business." Undergrads also love that "professors teach every class." Indeed, you won't find any teaching assistants here. However, you will discover instructors who are "dedicated and engaging." A current RMU student explains: "[Even in] the largest classes, [which] have 50 students…professors still find ways to interact with [everyone]." These instructors "genuinely care about [student] success." One grateful student gushes, "The professors go out of their way to make sure their students are on track. I have had professors email, call, and text me about various things going on in class and in my personal life. It makes me feel like I belong at RMU."

Student Body

Athletics and Greek life at Robert Morris University are popular but don't dominate the culture. For sports enthusiasts, "there is almost always a sporting event that students can [attend] for free," and particularly "when there is a basketball game, you can find the arena filled with students." Undergrads at RMU also love heading to the "athletic complex [that's] about five minutes from the main campus where students can go ice skating or mini golfing." "Greek life is big" as well, but we've been assured that there's no pressure to join: "You can find parties if you want to go to them…they are not ubiquitous." Some students lament that "most people go home" once Friday rolls around. For those who stay on campus, "residence life staff always has activities" like "dances, movies nights, and bingo to name a few activities." When students want a little more excitement, they can always head into nearby Pittsburgh, a quick 25-minute drive, to find "professional sports, concerts, museums, various events, and excellent food experiences."

Campus Life

The student body at Robert Morris University is definite by its "kindness." As one RMU undergrad shares, "Students always go out of their way to hold open doors, help others, and are really courteous to everyone." In terms of diversity, a number of RMU students suggest that the "majority [of their classmates] are white" and hail from "Pittsburgh [or] the surrounding area." A large number of students come "from Saudi Arabia," as well, which makes for nice cultural exchange. RMU attracts undergraduates who are "very motivated academically." Students describe their classmates as "very friendly," which makes it rather "easy to get to know people on campus." "No matter who you run into, you automatically feel comfortable with them." A current student sums the welcoming atmosphere: "Robert Morris feels like a close-knit family."
