Career Experience
I am a retired English teacher with thirty years of experience. I have taught middle school, high school, and AP Language and Composition. I taught ACT and SAT preparation as well.
I Love Tutoring Because
my passion is teaching the writing process. I believe all students can become proficient writers and communicators if given the proper tools. I encourage my students to find their own unique voice and to be free thinkers. I especially enjoy the one-on-one teaching experience because it is critical to confer with students when they are composing essays and to discuss their purpose and goals for writing their specific assignment. Tutoring gives me the space to encourage and nurture young people as they practice their skills.
