I started tutoring in 2013, working with children one-on-one. The children that I have worked with typically have special needs such as dyslexia, autism, Asperger's Syndrome, dysgraphia, and ADHD that alter how they learn. Working with different individuals has allowed me to have experience in tutoring a variety of subjects including reading, English, math, and science.

I Love Tutoring Because

as a teenager, I read a book called "Turnabout Children", by Mary MacCracken. In it the author told about how she had opened a private tutoring service in her home for children with learning disabilities. From that moment on, the idea of being able to help children and individuals in general was something I wanted to do. Helping someone overcome something that was previously hard for them to do is very rewarding. It changes a part of the person's life as well as the tutor's life, and one day may have a greater impact on someone's life than you realize.

Most of it was my fault with not being able to scroll up and follow the feedback, but the recommendations given was not very helpful. Basically gave me textbook answers and not enough examples to follow. I can read the textbook, but I sometimes need examples to help me follow what I just read. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I provide plenty of information before the session and the tutor ask me about items I provided earlier in the session.
