The quality professors have extensive real world experience (“many professors have C-suite experience”), and the well-rounded, “big data-focused” curriculum is fleshed out with experiential learning and “market-ready specializations/courses.” The core class professors are “top-notch” however, adjunct professors that teach electives are said to be “hit or miss.” Classes are very much interactive, and study methods include “a wide range of activities such as quiz, simulation, write-up, class debate, team assignments, individual exercises, and so on.” All in all, “you get a great bang for your buck with UConn in terms of the low cost, solid professors, and reputation.”

UConn has “a great brand and strong professors all for relatively low in-state tuition,” and the active alumni network is always willing to help. The average starting salary for UConn MBA graduates has been on the rise in recent years (jumping 10.6 percent since 2013), and “the salary bump after graduation more than pays for the cost.” Top employers of UConn grads include Aetna, Cigna, Walmart, GE, and Hartford Financial.

Campus Life
Students Say
The class is “very diverse along geographic, gender, and racial lines” and the school itself is military- and family-friendly, with a “strong international base.” Most students live in Hartford (“not the most exciting city but…getting better”) and commute; students now get a free bus pass and can take the new commuter train to New Haven from Hartford. The campus atmosphere is “getting better” with remodeled floors and recent efforts to increase cross-program event planning, and “there are often evening events and some weekend outings.”
